Our Green Vision
At Superior, our company philosophy is simple: to provide our customers with energy-efficient, virtually maintenance-free products that help to lower their energy bills.
But we don’t stop there. Many of our windows have extended life cycles, which helps to keep them hard at work saving energy in our region’s homes. From our environmentally sensitive manufacturing processes to our recycled materials content, our goal is to produce high-performance windows and patio doors that meet or exceed current energy-efficiency standards.
Our use of high-performance low-E glass can significantly reduce unwanted interior solar heat gain, while allowing ample visible light into your structure. Insulating gas, such as argon, often fill our insulated glass units to enhance thermal performance. Our warm edge spacer and sealant systems seal the insulated glass units while reducing thermal transfer around the glass perimeter.
Superior vinyl frame materials blend environmental sensitivity with high-quality finished products. We reduce our trim waste and recycle the scrap to maximize re-extrusion yield and minimize the impact on local landfills. The same diligence applies to our flat glass usage. Reclaimed glass makes up 24 to 28 percent of the raw materials used to produce the glass we consume in our manufacturing process, thus saving energy consumed in flat glass production.
